Guidance, Support, and Community for Aspiring Dietitians

The dietetics field can be challenging, especially for students of color. As of 2022, over 70% of dietitians are white, and the numerous barriers in our healthcare system disproportionately affect patients of color. It's crucial to provide high-quality care for our communities and support future dietitians of color in their journeys. As part of this commitment, I'm excited to offer a mentorship program!

Starting in September, I will accept one student or intern per year. You are eligible to apply if you are a sophomore, junior, senior, graduate student, or dietetic intern at an accredited university or internship program who is planning to become a Registered Dietitian. You will be a good fit if you are open to feedback and eager to learn! Applications open in August, with notifications sent in mid-late September. Our mentorship will run through May of the following year.

How it Works:

  • Initial Call : We’ll get to know each other and discuss your goals, interests, and favorite snacks! We'll also outline our game plan.

  • Quarterly Meetings : Every three months, we’ll touch base on your goals, discuss what’s going well and what needs improvement, and plan our next steps.

  • Feedback : I’ll provide formal feedback during each meeting and be available via email.

  • Continued Support : Even after the formal mentorship ends, I’m here to support you as you continue your journey.
