Hi, friend! I’m Shyla Cadogan, RD, LDN

I'm a Maryland-based Registered Dietitian and nationally recognized nutrition expert with deep roots in metabolic, hormone, and gut health.  But my work doesn't stop at the clinic, it also shows up on stages, in media, and across social media where I've built a community of  200,000+ people who are just as hungry for honest, science-backed health information as me!

I come from a family of hard workers, with an academically accomplished mother and immigrant, hard-working and equally accomplished father. I speak 3 languages, and actually thought I was going to work in international relations. It wasn’t until I was 18 and started cracking open the biochemistry and nutrition books when I realized that I had probably struggled with severe hormonal complications for years, explaining why I suffered from excruciating and debilitating menstrual symptoms for years prior. I was overlooked constantly by physicians, and wasn’t able to find a solution. It destroyed my quality of life. In 2024, I was officially diagnosed with stage II endometriosis, and suddenly everything made sense.

Diet isn’t the cure, but I’ve learned to use it to a powerful tool, and that's exactly how I approach everything that I do.

That experience shaped the dietitian, speaker, and advocate I am today. I believe every part of you is connected, between your history, culture, biology, and lived experience. Nothing is isolated. Nothing is irrelevant. My work is rooted in that belief, whether I'm on a stage, in the media, or in a conversation that challenges the way we think about food and health.
